Abstract:Phased array antenna is one of the important forms of high power microwave (HPM) radiation system in the future. In order to obtain ultra-high equivalent isotropic radiated power (EIRP), HPM antenna is large-aperture form. Large-aperture phased array antenna has the problem of beam splitting and gain decreasing in the process of radiating HPM beat-wave. To solve this problem, a large-aperture phased array antenna beat-wave radiation structure is proposed in this paper. The two-stage form of "sub-array and plane-array" is adopted to work out the problem of beam splitting in the process of beat-wave radiation and improve the comprehensive performance of HPM system effectively. This method can greatly save the number of phase shifters, save the system cost and reduce the system complexity. It is beneficial to realize the miniaturization of HPM system and enhance the system reliability.
