Abstract:In this paper, a new type of high power microwave narrow pulse with radar detection capability is proposed to solve the insufficient power problem of mono-pulse detection radar. The new high power microwave narrow pulse is the ns-level pulse signal, which has the central frequency and has the characteristics of ultra-high repetition frequency, ultra-high power and ultra-high bandwidth. According to the characteristics of the pulse, in this paper a radar detection technology based on new high power micro-wave is deeply studied. This technology uses a physical pulse compression method based on pulse channel coding compression method to obtain a new type of high power microwave narrow pulse, and the narrow pulse is used to realize target detection through mono-pulse detection. The comparison between the numerical simulation and the actual measurement shows that the pulse channel coding compression method can improve the signal gain by more than 20 dB on the basis of the existing power source for the detection radar system. The multi-target detection experiment verifies that the new high power microwave radar system can effectively detect targets, and the system distance measurement accuracy error is less than 5‰. The experiment proves that the new high power microwave narrow pulse has radar detection capability, which can effectively improve the detection system power and range.
